Guinness Asks Your Help Propositioning Congress

Guinness has launched an effort to make St. Patrick’s Day a national holiday. Right now, they’re about 6,000 signatures short of the million they hope to present to Congress on St. Patty’s Day. From an email I just received from the folks at Guinness:

Visit Proposition317.com to sign the petition and learn more. Let your friends know now, because we need to secure one million signatures by midnight on March 16th so we can present the petition to Congress on St. Patrick’s Day.

All in favor, raise your pints.

You’re welcome to sign, but I’m keeping my pint glued to the table on this one. First, I don’t need an excuse to drink. Second, in my opinion we already have enough holidays, and one too many national religious holidays (Christmas) to honor a saint. Third, while I like Guinness, I actually prefer Murphy’s. I know, I know. Blasphemy. Whatever. I’m going to take a pass.
